tub tank

We do sometimes use 'tubs' to house our breeding groups. Makes for a slimpler weekly check on eggs and cleaning. In this picture you can see the way we tend to do our lay box containers. A large round hole for entry into the lay box and a smaller hole that fits one 2oz solo cup.
We do see a lot of poorly done tubs around and I think thats why 'tubs' get such a bad name. I believe tubs can be very useful if your not looking for a display tank. With tubs you need to be willing to put the work into them to be set up properly. Ventilation is a must. I suggest front and back screen panels as well as smaller holes near the top and lid of the tanks. Also size is still a factor. For some reason I see a lot of people who use tubs placing an animal who need 20+ gallon in a tub that equals 10 gallons. In this picture you can see two geckos that are each 45+ grams. This should give you an idea of just how big the tank should be.
